Calling all Dallas/Fort-Worth brides-to-be! If you are engaged and on the hunt for the perfect, reasonably priced wedding gown, your wishes are about to come true. Join Brides Against Breast Cancer for their Charity Wedding Gown Sale & Bridal Show and choose from a vast selection of new and previously loved designer and couture gowns. Proceeds from the event fund programs and services, such as support groups, children's programs, exercise classes and more, that are FREE to cancer patients, their families and caregivers.
In additon to general admission to the gown sale on Saturday, September 14th, BABC will be hosting a VIP Night on Friday, September 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., which will include light bites, specialty cocktails, entertainment, and exciting giveaways! Two lucky brides will win either a Gift Certificate for 2 Wedding Bands from JVL Jewelry or a Travel Package Gift from VIP Vacations.
Gowns for the event are donated by top designers, manufacturers, and bridal shops, as well as private donors. Sizes range from 2-24. Prices begin as low as $99 and range up to $3,900; savings are 25-85% off the regular retail price! Even if you are not on a tight wedding budget, who wouldn't want to save a little and put it towards the honeymoon?
What else can brides do to support people impacted by cancer? Brides Against Breast Cancer also operates the Pink Envelope Project to help raise funds for BABC's programs for cancer patients and their loved ones. Why throw a typical bridal shower or wedding reception? Impress and inspire your family and friends by showing your philanthropic spirit and host a Pink Envelope Bridal Shower or Wedding Reception. Register with the Pink Envelope Project to receive special Pink Envelope enclosure cards and include them with your invitations or offer them to guests at the event. Your guests’ contributions will go towards a worthy cause, and your bridal shower or reception will be featured on the Pink Envelope Project’s website, encouraging others to follow your shining example.
Bridal shower or reception ideas not for you? That’s okay; there’s always other options!
Brides often struggle when deciding on wedding guest favors. Obviously, you don't want to spend your hard-earned money on something that will be thrown away or tossed in the coat closet, never to be seen again. I challenge you to be different. Instead of going with the run-of-the-mill wedding guest favors that all of your friends will be offering, make a donation to the Pink Envelope Project on behalf of your guests. A couple of bucks per guest can make a huge difference. Once you have sent your donation, Pink Envelope Project will send you your chic pink favor cards to give to your wedding guests, explaining your donation on their behalf.
Lastly, if you've already said "I Do" and would like to donate your gown to Brides Against Breast Cancer, they are currently looking for all gown styles, slips, and veils dating from 2009 to the present. You can find out how to donate your gown here.
